Tim & Tanya Harris are the parents of two children and proud grandparents of five grandchildren. Though they are  both natives of Ohio, through the Lord’s doing they moved to Indianapolis in 1985.

They had already started TM Camp in 1980. Barely adults themselves in their early twenties, they already sought a way to help people as much as they could. Originally campers came from three states and roughly 115 people attended, but by 2008 up to one thousand campers and staff members annually come from 29 states and Canada.  Camp was only the beginning of  the Harris’ works.  In 1990, they organized a youth choir, TM Mass, to celebrate over a decade of successful youth camps.  TM Mass was on The Billboard music charts for 36 weeks in the top 40 albums in the country for their 1993 recording, ‘Send Your Anointing’.

At one time over 90 kids as young as nine years old traveled the country with TM Mass for seven years- going from New York City to Los Angeles to San Antonio and performing with the top gospel artist of the day.  For many young people it was an outlet to fellowship with other Christians, see the country, and have an awesome time.  As many of the youth grew up, and the Harris’ started Turning Point Family Worship Center in December 1996, it was decided it was time for the choir to complete its run.  The Harris’ would use Turning Point as a home base for future community programs as they began to concentrate their efforts on the East side of Indianapolis.

Since 1997, the Harris’ have worked fervently on the East Side of Indianapolis to service almost every facet of the community. Turning Point’s first service had twelve people in attendance, but today over 500 attend on any given Sunday morning. Today, in addition to the church, Tim Harris runs one of the largest minority owned businesses in Indiana, and Sis. Harris is the Administrator of Turning Point Schools which she founded, and currently has over 200+ students.

Together they are building housing for single parents endeavoring to get 4-year degrees that will include daycare and other social services in house. This facility is slated to open in 2015. The Harris’ lead from their heart and with their lives. Please keep them and Turning Point in your prayers.
