God can KEEP YOU!

Wendy Tucker, MA, CMHC, CSAYC

As the world seems to be turned upside down due to the pandemic, politics, and protests it is hard not to get sucked into the negative downward spiral or debates over personal stances. It is difficult seeing the children of God be divided over the pandemic, politics, and protests! Should you wear a mask or not, should we go into the church or not, should we vote for this one or that one or not.

Everyone seems to be strong in their beliefs, and quick to boldly declare why this or that is right.

As I sit back and quietly observe and see the dispute back and forth the one thing that comes to mind is that no matter what you think or feel, GOD CAN KEEP YOU! There's no need to dispute back and forth when the truth will always STAND for itself. When the children of God are divided the only person that wins is the enemy. The scripture that comes to mind is 1st Corinthians 1:10 "Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together the same mind and in the same judgment."

As I sat in bible study recently and started to reflect on how good God is and how he has kept his people during this time the Holy Ghost dropped in my spirit that no matter how hard the test may be, no matter how high the hill you may have to climb, GOD IS ABLE TO KEEP YOU! Who can stand against our great and mighty God? He's not weak and feeble or intimidated by the traps and snares of the enemy! God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think according to the power that worketh in us. Therefore, there is no reason to go back and forth about what you think and feel. However, this is a time to exercise our faith and believe that God knows best. Our job is to pray according to his will and allow him to work out the details. We serve a good, good father and he knows best. My prayer is that your heart is strengthened and know that the darker the night, the brighter the light, and GOD IS ABLE TO KEEP you in the midst of it all!
